The Chamomile Roman essential oil is obtained from Anthemis nobilis, which is from Chamaemelum Nobile family and species Asteraceae. Formerly it was placed in the Compositae family. This beneficial oil is also commonly known by the following names such as-English chamomile, sweet chamomile and garden chamomile. Actually, the Roman chamomile is a small perennial herb that has a hairy stem and feathery pinnate leaves. It has daisy-like white colour flowers that usually grow about 25 cm high. This essential oil carries a sweet, apple-like fragrance and is very light yellow to yellow colour along with having a watery viscosity. The oil is obtained from the flowers with the help of using the steam distillation process and it yields about 1.7 % from the fresh flowers. Chamomile roman oil has excellent calming properties.
